Honda Dream Machines Experience

A wildly successful auto show engagement I produced for Honda from 2015-2018. Smoke cannons had small touch screen affixed to one end, allowing users to select animations and take a selfie photos, then aim the cannons and shoot a smoke ring at a large LED screen overhead. When the smoke ring reached the LED, the selfie photo and selected animations appeared for several minutes. Videos were socially sharable.

  • Timeline: 4 months
  • Deliverables: Two smoke cannons, large screen photo op, sharable digital photos and animations via email links, consumer leads to client
  • Challenges: Fixed budget and extremely short timeframe to build parallel systems, skeptical client, need to clear Apple App store for iPhone downloads, need to integrate RFID with booth engagements.
  • Solutions: Used trusted dev vendors and in house design team for mobile app, provided frequent status updates and results metrics with analysis for client, prepared detailed write up for Apple store, worked with trusted in house devs to integrate with RFID. 
  • Result: Clients very pleased with RFID results, record numbers of consumer leads for show season.
